Day 16 – it’s CUTLERY and UTENSILS time! For me, I did a major clean out of all my cutlery a while back so not much work to be done there. But when it comes to all my utensils – I could open my own shop! I have an alarming amount of salad servers, wooden spoons, serving spoons, measuring spoons, whisks etc. You name it, I’ve got it.
One solution was to use various jugs to house groups of items on my countertop (wooden spoons in one and baking utensils in another). That way, I could group together frequently used items where I can see them (while donating unnecessary duplicates). I also placed like with like – serving spoons on one side of the drawer and salad servers on the other, but I fully get that a better storage solution will be needed going forwards, where I can find things (like the wine bottle opener) without having to rummage through the drawer. But as mentioned before, this challenge is mostly about SUBTRACTING, instead of shifting clutter around and calling it “tidying”.
