We’re easing into our 30 Day Challenge with a relatively quick and easy project – your purse!
If you’re anything like me, your purse is routinely stuffed with till slips, a million loyalty cards (most of which add no value at all), passport photos, business cards that you’ve been given and aren’t quite sure where they should go, Gautrain cards that aren’t used that often (I have five – I have no idea why!) and so much more.
So get stuck in – empty ALL the contents onto a table. Put the money back neatly in order of currency, replace the coins, and sift through your till slips (keep only those that you may need in the future – for me, there were none!) Then sort through your bank cards and loyalty cards. I found only a handful that have proven useful – eBucks, Dischem, Garden Shop, Exclusive Books and Clicks. The rest have been placed in a separate section of my purse – if they are not used in the next 6 months, I’ll get rid of them.
My new-look purse is lighter, more stream-lined and I can find what I need at a glance. Plus, I have resolved to throw away each randomĀ till slip as soon as I get it (usually when walking out the store) to preventĀ a build up of paper going forwards. Only those that might require an exchange will make it’s way into my purse in future.
Day 1 – complete!
